Texas Governor picks McCain, 9 Derby horses
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, the chairman of the Republican Governors Association, said he expects GOP U.S. Sen. John McCain to win Kentucky in the fall election regardless of who becomes the Democratic nominee.
"We really don't care. They're two peas in a pod when it comes to taxes -- they want to take all your money and spend it on something else," said Perry, who arrived at Churchill Downs minutes after Chelsea Clinton made her entrance.
Perry called U.S. Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton "a couple of socialists."
On the other race of the day, Perry said he will put money on nine horses that have connections to Texas, either because of a trainer or owner.
"I might put some money on the filly, too," he said of Eight Belles.

The Republicans are quickly becoming parodies of themselves. Remember when their favorite word was "liberal"? That term apparently lost its punch -- Democrats now control both the Senate and House. So now they've taken to calling Democrats "socialists."
Keep playing the word games, Republicans. We Democrats will take care of running the country while you all pat yourselves on the backs over how clever you are.

Rick Perry is a dumba-ss. He can't even define socialist much less label someone as such. The know nothings of the Republican party are out in force, proven stupidity is their hallmark.

Why did Texas Governor Perry make such statements?
It seems that Perry knows nothing about socialism and the position of any of the three remaining candidates for President.
What America is looking at in respect to candidates---
McCain--Continue the War as Is
-Continue America's Healthcare
as is;
-Continue the Bush Policy of
borrowing from China to pay for
the War in Iraq;
-No thoughts as to NAFTA
Obama--Plan for to turn over Iraq War
to the Iraqis;
-End the War on Terror by going
after Osma Bin Ladin;
-Universal Healthcare for all
Americans;
-Renegotiate NAFTA
Clinton--Iraq War Plan unclear
--Universal Healthcare;
--NAFTA???

Rick Perry is right. He is a very smart, savvy guy.
Promises and platitudes by the inexperienced Obama mean little. Voting for him is a wish, not a plan. Haven't we learned that candidates promise the moon, but if they are elected, they come crashing to earth? Look no further than all the broken promises of Steve Beshear.
I do believe that Hillary is capable and has that never-give-up Clinton persona. Unfortunately, her credibility rating for what she says is in the cellar, and she too promises bigger government (socialism), which is not the answer.
And as far as running the country, Roger, the only institution having a worse favorability rating than the President, is the Congress! Pelosi, Reid, and company have performed poorly. Perhaps the best example of an even worse performance would be our own newly-elected Democrat governor and his allies in the Kentucky House who fumbled everything they have touched this year. Neither party has much about which to boast.
I am disappointed in the leadership of both the President and the Congress. But, I believe that our best hope for progress is someone who is battle-hardened and proven, a person who understands our enemies and what it will take to stabilize Iraq and defend against our determined enemies, and someone who has already demonstrated an ability to reach across the aisle to find common ground on complex issues, the independent-minded John McCain. McCain's approach and values most closely match the majority of Kentuckians, whether they be Republican, Democrat, or Independent. McCain will carry Kentucky by a wide margin.

That little Texas Governor is pathetic, Bush/Cheney has gotten us in a ten trillion dollar debt, a recession, a war we cannot win, 4 dollar a gallon gas, wow, thanks Texas...McCain does not hold the same Christian values I hold, look at his record and his past behavior. Cheated on his wife, alcohol abuse, flip flop McCain. Maybe Forgy will lead his campagin, he will be a loser for sure.

We are all sinners, Stella. Even you. So let up on the judgmental, legalistic, holier-than-thou talk, and making light of the suffering of others.
John McCain nearly gave his life for his country! He suffered terribly in a POW camp for 5 1/2 years. He is a pragmatic conservative. He is not opposed to reaching out to the other party to resolve issues.
Obama is inexperienced, and Hillary is...well, Hillary. The choice is clear. I'm supporting the guy with the most experience, and the guy who nearly gave his life for my freedom, John McCain.

Benedict Arnold was a veteran, too, and a war hero. Didn't make him a saint. Or right. McCain is wrong for America - his time is past. Perhaps if he'd won in 2000 instead of the current disaster named Bush the nation would be much better off. But now, all McCain offers is Bush's third term. And that ain't good.

Your analogies are despicable, Adkins. Your comment about Benedict Arnold is not only a dumb cheap shot, but it is also exceeded in stupidity only by nearly every other comment you make. McCain's sacrifice commands your respect, if not your vote. Grow up.

That my analogy is over your head is your problem -- and I do respect McCain's war service. But it does not merit an automatic vote for his wrong headed policies today. Why don't you come back when you've grown up.
