Democrats hustle to win Kentucky votes

HARRODSBURG -- In the final hurried push for votes before Tuesday's election, both Democratic presidential campaigns have marshaled current and former governors and senators, an entertainer or two and even a few superdelegates from across the country to stump in Kentucky.
U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton herself campaigned in Bowling Green and Mayfield on the second leg of her four-day barnstorming tour of Kentucky, which will culminate with her election-night speech in Louisville on Tuesday.
Her opponent, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, campaigned Sunday in Oregon -- the other state that votes Tuesday -- while relying on his network of prominent supporters to rally volunteers.
"I just think he's the right person at the right time," former U.S. Sen. Jean Carnahan of Missouri told 35 Obama volunteers in Mercer County.
The Harrodsburg organizer for Obama, Jennifer Parks, showed off a letter signed by Obama thanking the volunteers for their work. Parks said she understood that Obama wouldn't be in Kentucky much because he's starting to gear up to face the likely Republican nominee, U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
"The dynamics of this campaign changed from primary mode to a national general election campaign," said Parks, who was a registered Republican until last fall, when she switched to back Obama.

Obamas middle name is Hussein. Why are you not use his middle name. Is there something wrong using his middle name?
HAMAS and Fakhan have endorsed him. Why?

Unfortunately, the Kentucky primary will only serve to reinforce what the rest of the country has said about Kentucky for decades-- that it is racist, backwards and stuck in the mud. If Sen. Obama was white, how would his message then contrast with Sen. Clinton's in the minds of her "working class white" supporters?

”Behold the double standard: John McCain sought out the endorsement of John Hagee, the war-mongering Catholic-bashing Texas preacher who said the people of New Orleans got what they deserved for their sins. But no one suggests McCain shares Hagee's delusions, or thinks AIDS is God's punishment for homosexuality. Pat Robertson called for the assassination of a foreign head of state and asked God to remove Supreme Court justices, yet he remains a force in the Republican religious right. After 9/11 Jerry Falwell said the attack was God's judgment on America for having been driven out of our schools and the public square, but when McCain goes after the endorsement of the preacher he once condemned as an agent of intolerance, the press gives him a pass.” BMJ PBS May 2, 2008
"Jon Stewart recently played a tape from the Nixon White House in which Billy Graham talks in the oval office about how he has friends who are Jewish, but he knows in his heart that they are undermining America. This is crazy; this is wrong -- white preachers are given leeway in politics that others aren't. "

WHO DEFENDS REVEREND WRIGHT:
1.Already on March 19, Obama's former pastor was defended by Mike Huckabee, an arch-conservative Republican. You Tube.
2. Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, posted a Statement in defense of Rev. Wright on their web site, archives. Clintons attended this Church during their years in the White House. See www.foundryumc.org . They also invited Wright to the White House after ML scandal, with 50 other spiritual leaders.
3. Hilary Clinton is still a member of the First United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, and remains in touch with its former pastor Rev. Edward Matthews who himself holds some very controversial political views like those of Rev. Wright, yet Senator Clinton remains a member. See www2.nysun.com/article/74027?page_no=1
4. On March 25, 2008 "Diverse Group of Prominent Religious Leaders Condemn Personal Attacks" in a letter to Senator Clinton. google it by the title.
5. Rev. Marlin Lavanhar the Senior Minister of Tulsa, Oklahoma All Souls Unitarian Church. See http://www.allsoulschurch.org/ in his sermon “Why Jeremiah is Wright” on April 6, 2008.
6.Check the website of your house of worship. Perhaps they defend Rev. Wright as well.
