Grayson will be on Harvard panel to discuss presidential primaries

FRANKFORT -- Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson will join about a dozen members of the National Association of Secretaries of State and leading political, legal and academic professionals April 29 at Harvard for a symposium on how to change the way Americans select their nominees for president.

“I am excited that we are beginning to see substantive discussions taking place on the subject of how to reform our presidential primary process,” said Grayson, who co-chairs NASS’s presidential primary subcommittee.

“As we continue these discussions, I am hopeful that the leaders of our country will find a way to reform this process so that we have a better way of nominating our presidential candidates.”

Grayson, who is senior adviser to the Harvard Institute of Politics, brought NASS and the IOP together to initiate this discussion.

The Harvard institute plans to publish a transcript of the conversations from the symposium and will release a paper outlining possible recommendations on improving the presidential primary process.

Does anyone care? Think a lot of folks are tired of the politicians just like Grayson. They spend their time jockeying from one office to another while accomplishing virtually nothing other than a few feel good measures here and there and then offering sickening platitudes to various interest groups. Career politicians like Trey Grayson and his useless kiddie corp II staff need to be sent by the wayside if we're to ever move ahead in this state. While Grayson and his junior league staff are trying to figure out what he's going to be when he grows up, we'll all support new blood in Frankfort. It's desperately needed!

You are so right! I mean, what's he accomplished that is actually meaningful! Sure, few trivial rah rah election things but nothing meaningful. He lacks the political skills or the staff to make up for it that's for sure. They spend their days dreaming of "where can we go from here? instead of what are we doing now. Electing Grayson and his little play friends staff would be disastrous. You think the Fletcher group disappointed, let this group of boys and girls get elected and it'll ensure Democrat control for another 30 years. It's time for Republicans to look elsewhere for a credible and appealing candidate!

so Grayson is a pandering do-nothing politician? What's the big deal? We love them in Kentucky. We depend on them to keep us at the bottom of all things good and the top of all things bad! Three cheers for Grayson and his inept staff! Grayson for President!

I'm no "Treytor" Grayson fan, but tell me, what can a secretary of state accomplish anyway? He's done more in that position than most. Compared to Frances Jones Mills, Grayson looks downright presidential.
