Will Hillary Clinton be in Kentucky Saturday?

FRANKFORT --
Former President Bill Clinton had just begun his nearly hourlong speech
at the Frankfort Convention Center to tout his wife's presidential
candidacy when a voice in the crowd of more than 3,000 shouted out,
"We're not done yet!"
Clinton, a master of a crowd, picked up on the exclamation. "Yeah, we're not done yet," he said, both acknowledging and rejecting the underdog status of U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's Democratic campaign. "You can bet we're not. I think all you have to do is look around here and see that."
The former president drew large, enthusiastic crowds Tuesday in Kentucky, campaigning for his wife in four cities -- Frankfort, Paris, Maysville and Morehead.
"He's a political celebrity," said Jasmine Farrier, a University of Louisville political science professor. "He's one of three living former presidents, and is a unique spectacle. He and his wife are the premiere couple of the Democratic Party."
In a sign of how important Kentucky has become in the presidential race, Hillary Clinton herself is expected to show up Saturday in Kentucky.
Brenda Glover, chair of the Hopkins County Democratic Party, said there has been no official confirmation of the visit, "but we have every anticipation that she is coming Saturday for the Ruby Laffoon dinner." That is an annual Democratic fund-raiser in Madisonville named for the governor of Kentucky from 1931 to 1935.
Gov. Steve Beshear is scheduled to speak at the dinner, but he will not be making any endorsement, said Dick Brown, his communications director.

Saw this in another post ... it is 100% accurate so I thought I'd share it here ...
"Hillary Clinton is a liar. A bold faced liar. She has lost total credibility!
Hillary Clinton & Bill Clinton lie so much and so often they do not know the difference between the truth and a lie.
President Clinton was impeached because he lied under oath.
In fact, President Clinton invited Rev. Wright to the prayer breakfast in 1998 after the House decided to impeach him after Clinton lied UNDER OATH about his affair with Monica.
Most recently Hillary Clinton has LIED about: NAFTA, SCHIP, Bosnia, North Ireland, Macedonia.
Hillary & Bill are BOTH lying when they claim Barack Obama wants to disenfranchise the voters of Fl. & Mi. --
I could NEVER vote for a presidential candidate that LIES as much as Hillary Clinton does."

The Herald-Leader should write about this:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/26/opinion/26wed3.html
"Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate's Republican leader, has insisted that the four [vacant Federal Election Commission] seats be filled as a single package on one vote, not separate votes on the merits of the individuals. Democrats object to one Republican nominee, Hans von Spakovsky, a notorious partisan who built a record at the Justice Department as an aggressive G.O.P. booster undermining voting rights for minorities and the poor.
"Lacking a quorum, the commission has been left powerless to issue advisory opinions for candidates, write new reform regulations, open investigations and file lawsuits against violators. The result is a scofflaw's paradise. The political landscape's big-money fast lanes are slick enough without having the only traffic controller gone missing.
"...Surely, Senator McConnell - long an outspoken opponent of campaign-finance reform - can't mean to block a vital new law of the land in order to champion a discredited ward-heeler."

I'd vote for just about anybody before John McCain.

Roger, you may choose to live in denial about the dangerous world in which we live. But the fact is that Islamic extremists will not stop until they destroy the United State...or die trying. Thanks to patriots like John McCain, hopefully, they will continue to die trying. It is better that they die in Iraq or Afghanistan than in New York City, or Wash. D. C., or Chicago, or L. A., perhaps taking thousands of American souls with them.
Certainly, we ought to be very stategic about choosing our battles. We will be debating for decades about whether Iraq was the right one. In hindsight, I wish we had done it differently. But history teaches that appeasement rarely works, and the result of appeasement is usely a more costly battle later. And once a battle has ensued, with the global enemy we currently face, we cannot afford to do anything but win.
The price of victory in Iraq is dear. The price of defeat would be dire.
McCain knows firsthand, perhaps more than any living American, the high cost of freedom and of defending our country. I believe he also understands the need to carefully choose our battles. In these dangerous times, he is better prepared by experience to protect the United States and our interests as President than anyone.

P. S. This blog was supposed to be about Hillary, but Roger apparently was desperate to slam McConnell and McCain, hence his posts. One thing he failed to do was to add a disclaimer that the post on McConnell at 5:17 was an editorial by the oft discredited New York Times. I am no McConnell fan, but for the Times to use the term partisan to apply to anyone is about as hypocritical as it gets. In fact it probably should be taken as a back-handed compliment. It would be wise to take this, and most of the Times opinions, with a grain of salt.

Phillip:
How can a sitting President of The United States, deceive and lie to the citizens for the sake of economics and not be impeached?
I do not believe the USA should be the POLICE FORCE for the world. If we are threaten, and certainly 9\11 was just that, then we have to do what is necessary to put down the challenge to our way of life.
And, for future generations HISTORY will not remember YOUR PRESIDENT George W. Bush, as a President with a sparkling past history.
It all on the table now, Phillip. The voters will decide, before too long. And, the way things have been handled with this administration it does not look good.
And, if Senator John McCain continues his echo of STAY THE COURSE it will be a huge negative in his campaign. It already is.
And, with a temper he has, at some point in the upcoming months, he will loose it and explode. That is not a good example for a President.
Cordially . .

I got this from a good friend this morning and want to share it with you. Please look in your adrs book and pass it on.
Will you give this to my Daddy?
As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'
Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I
was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me
beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone)was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.
When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded
American wh o still loves this country and supports our troops and their
families.
Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young
unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.
Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our
service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the mal e soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'
The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy
for her.
The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself,
said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then
suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the
biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was
Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.
When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They
started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.
After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standi ng no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.
As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people
resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's
good to be an American.
RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.
We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing.. We get no liberal
media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many
Americans, like you, me and all our f riends, simply want to recognize
that the vast majority of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity
and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday
until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.
By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every
Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the
bleachers.
If every one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long
before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the
once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more
than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.
Let's get the word out and lea d with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.
IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.
IF YOU COULD CARE LESS THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON --- IT IS YOUR CHOICE. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!
