Yarmuth endorsing Obama
Louisville congressman John Yarmuth will endorse Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in an 11:30 a.m. conference call, according to Yarmuth spokesman Stuart Perelmuter.
Yarmuth, in his first term representing Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District, has consistently spoken highly of Obama, a Senator from Illinois.
"I believe a Barack Obama presidency would change the way America is perceived around the world overnight," Yarmuth told the Herald-Leader on Feb. 1. "I also feel Senator Clinton has demonstrated a remarkable intellect and strength. The Democrats are in an incredible position right now with two remarkably strong leaders vying for the nomination."

Good endorsement, but could he be courting Black vote with the endorsement?

What a dumb comment. Why would Yarmuth, an urban Democrat, need to court the black vote? And how would an endorsement of a half-black presidential candidate be effective anyway?
Can we for once discuss Obama without having to bring race or gender into the argument?

Great endorsement. Yarmuth is riding the wave.

I love Yarmuth but am sticking with Hillary! This was, however, a smart endorsement for Yarmuth. His district will be 60-40 for Obama.

One idiot endorsing another, sounds like typical Democrat politics.

OK, someone tell me why Yarmuth, who is Jewish, would endorse Obama, who has a Muslim background, when the Muslims are sworn enemies of the Jews?

According to a 01/24/07 New York Times article Obama is not and was not a Muslim.

Pennyrile Dem, no one said he was. What was stated was that he has a Muslim background. His father was a Muslim and for a short while he attended a Muslim school that some have called a madrassa. The little dustup at UK this week led me to snopes.com to check all of it out.

I don't agree with his endorsement. I don't think Obama has the experience to govern, doesn't have the circle of advisors with the collective wisdom that Hillary has, and frankly, I don't think he has the fight necessary to take on the Repub slime machine. His talk of consensus and unity is nonsense and naive. The message of the opposition is hardly cordial and inviting. No, Yarmuth has to endorse Obama because he can smell Annie on his tail. She has hauled cash to the West End churches by the bucket and they are going to have to pay the piper. Who loves you, Baby?

Hillary's "experience?" If you put her experience in perspective, Mrs. Bill Belichick has the right experience to coach the Patriots, Mrs. Bill Gates has the qualifications to run Microsoft, Joanne Pitino has the qualifications to coach at UK or U of L, and so on. Being married to the president doesn't qualify you to be president. Sheesh.
Neither Obama nor Clinton have the experience, let alone the right policies and ideas, to be president. For that matter, McCain's not the answer either, but what choice do we have this year?

Hillary is smart as a whip and strong enough to appoint people who disagree with her to her cabinet. Would not that be refreshing after having a president having a bunch of yes people around him.
Bush got rid of the only two cabinet members that ever questioned his policies...Christy Todd Whitman and Colin Powell. That is not leadership.
Our country better hope we get a president who can lead this country during these trying times. We sorely miss that now. Clinton 2008.

Yarmuth ain't stupid. He's endorsing Obama because he doesn't want to lose in November. Clinton would have a devastating impact on the Democratic down-ballot all over the country.

Yeah...if you disagree with the Clintons you get whacked. Who would you rather work for?

Is this really news who the one term wonder is endorsing? I don't think so. The endorsement I can't wait for, Mr Yarmouth, is when you bring your buddies Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed to Shively, Jeffersontown, or Okolona and let them stump for you and tell us we in lock step with their west coast liberal views. Funny how you seem to bring only African Americans to stump for you...can you say DUPED!
