Group targets McConnell -- again

UPDATE 9/27/07: McConnell responds on his blog with a video of his own.

The liberal group Americans United for Change is launching another ad targeting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

This time, the group is highlighting the fact that McConnell voted against a bill that expanded the availability of health insurance for children.

Spokesman Jeremy Funk said the group has purchased more than $100,000 in airtime on cable outlets in Louisville, Lexington, Paducah and Huntington, W. Va. It starts running Thursday.

Here's the ad:

The groups are wasting their money. McConnell is popular throughout the state and still has strong support in Louisville. The only difference between the results for Fletcher and McConnell will be in the Louisville area. Fletcher will lose Louisville badly while McConnell will win that area.

Yeah, Mitch McConnell is invulnerable. In fact he doesn't even need to run a campaign. So don't bother turning out to vote for him, because he's going to win easily.

Andrew Horne, Charlie Owen, Critter Luallan, Greg Stumo, Fauntleroy Frazier Owsley Brown-Mitch be shivering.

Mitch is once again being Bush's lapdog. They both should be ashamed for putting the needs of big insurance companies above the needs of uninsured children. Today's New York Times hit the nail on the head:

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/25/opinion/25tues1.html

"President Bush accused Congressional Democrats of putting health coverage for poor children at risk by forcing him to veto a bill that he says is a dangerous step toward government-run health care. The opposite is the case. Mr. Bush is the one putting the health of America’s children at risk, threatening to veto carefully crafted legislation that would reauthorize and expand the valuable State Children’s Health Insurance Program, or S-chip.

"We can only hope that fair-minded members of Congress will pass the compromise measure by veto-proof majorities this week. Otherwise, millions of low- and middle-income children would be denied access to a program that has played a critical role in reducing the number of uninsured children over the past decade.

"To hear the president tell it, he has long supported the joint federal-state program, and his budget for fiscal year 2008 proposes an additional $5 billion in federal funds spread over the next five years, a 20 percent increase over current levels. What he doesn’t say is that this paltry sum is not even enough to provide continued coverage for all of the children who are currently enrolled, let alone enroll millions more of the uninsured."

George Soros is going to waste alot of money on this race.

I thought Stumbo was running or has Greg figured out the new KDP has no use for him even after all the great work he did taking out Fletcher for them. Buy a dog Greg.

Don't nobody worry about Greg-he enjoys himself playing golf everyday on his own mountain top.
