Fancy Farm blog roundup

Kentucky's political bloggers were working overtime this weekend after spending Saturday in the blistering heat of Fancy Farm, Ky.

Let's Blog the Bluegrass:

  • Over at the WHAS11 Political Blog, reporter Mark Hebert says Democrat Steve Beshear had the best one-liner of the day. He gave Gov. Ernie Fletcher the best prop award.
  • The Arena's Joe Gerth notes that Fletcher pounded on the liberal media, including a personal dig aimed at Gerth.
  • Fletcher and Beshear "would have been pretty good candidates at Fancy Farm 100 years ago because of their abilities to deliver stem winding speeches," declares Bill Bryant of Bill's Politcal Blog.
  • Pat Crowley reports on N. Ky. Politics that Democrats found their religion at Fancy Farm.
  • Kentucky Women blogger Diane Brumback offers up a passel of pictures from the left and right sides of the Fancy Farm political speaking pavilion.
  • Brett Hall of KyPolitics.org says Beshear took Fletcher's bait and swallowed it whole.
  • DitchMitchKy's Shawn Dixon declares that State Auditor Crit Luallen's speech "set the kind of tone and message that all Democrats should be using in their races this fall."
  • Brian Schenkenfelder of Elendil's Journal provided a blow-by-blow live blog of the event.
  • For a behind-the-scenes look at the Herald-Leader's Mayfield bureau over the weekend, take a look at Tom Eblen's post on Behind the Headlines.
  • Finally, if your Fancy Farm craving still hasn't been fulfilled, watch all the action on KET's web cast. Also, the network will broadcast an hour of highlights from the event Monday night at 8 EDT.
